When you start designing or re-designing your master bath, there are a few details that are going to make the difference in how luxurious your space will feel. First, we recommend going bold with a patter somewhere in the space. Fun tile + funky wallpaper are HOT right now, and choosing something bold for your space will both delight guests and give you a solid place to find gather inspiration from. In this design, we started with a BOLD, tropical design for the back shower wall. We can’t tell you how many times a guest has walked in and said, “wow, I LOVE this tile!” It’s both unexpected and luxurious in feel. We do however have a rule, use sparingly. Don’t cover 3 or 4 walls with a tile like this, let it shine in one space and then chose neutrals to pair around it. This will ensure that your love for that pop stays longer. When people cover a space with loud wallpaper or tile, they tend to fall out of love faster.
A freestanding tub is always a luxurious touch, and honestly who doesn’t want a freestanding tub for a late night soak. We are seeing a new trend where the tub and shower space is one, but prefer to keep these spaces separate with a modern, sleep glass wall. A freestanding tub filler like the one you see here is another great detail that takes the space from typical to fabulous. This one has proven it’s worth since the height adds space to the overall tub, rather than something sticking out over it. If this is not an option, look for a model that has a filler built in, on the side like the one here. We adore this space and have also linked our favorite bath pillow + salts below. The addition of a Cadiz shell chandelier overhead really kicked this design up a notch. Obviously hanging a piece like this in a bathroom is luxurious and over the top, but the shells kept it light and coastal in feel. We adore it, and I’m linking my two favorites on the market below.
The master bath vanity color seen below, SW 6332 Coral Island, took it’s inspiration from the tile. It’s another fun, bold choice that adds to the unique coastal charm. Hooks and the hand towel bar are all from Anthropolgie. They are our go to for unique hardware. And, the lights + mirrors are all Pottery Barn, one of my absolute favorite sources for pieces that I can count on to be great quality when remodeling or building.
Sink details are all from Target, we loved the heavy marble details mixed with water basket weave containers for personal items. Finally, the rug is a the same that we choose for the master bedroom, continuing the theme and connecting the spaces. It’s Ruggable and can be found via the links below. I keep saying this, but Ruggable is everything, and this one has already been washed several times. We finished the space with a long mirror which reflects the tile when guests walk in. You can find that mirror from Gradin road here.
